Prescription & Lenses
Yes, we offer a full range of prescription lenses. You can choose your preferred lens type and enter your prescription details directly when placing your order.
Yes, we do! To order progressive lenses, your prescription must include an ADD value.
ADD (Addition) indicates the additional magnifying power needed for reading or seeing up close, and is essential for making progressive lenses.
Without the ADD value, we are unable to create progressive lenses for you. If you’re unsure where to find ADD on your prescription, it’s usually listed alongside your distance prescription details—feel free to reach out to us if you need help!
Absolutely. We partner with leading lens brands including ZEISS, Essilor, and Transitions. You can select these premium lenses directly on each product page when customizing your order.
When selecting your lenses, simply enter your prescription details manually—this includes SPH, CYL, AXIS, and PD. For progressive lenses, the ADD value is required.
We highly recommend using a prescription issued within the last year, as outdated prescriptions may not provide the most accurate vision correction.
PD (Pupillary Distance) is the measurement, in millimeters, between the centers of your two pupils. This number is essential because it tells us exactly where to place the optical centers in your lenses—so your vision is sharp and comfortable. Without your PD, your glasses may not give you the clear focus you need.
If your prescription doesn’t include PD, you can easily measure it at home using our printable PD ruler and step-by-step guide.
Yes, you can! We offer a wide range of non-prescription lenses with features like blue light blocking, anti-reflective coatings, and more. Simply select the options you need when customizing your lenses.
We provide a variety of lens types to suit different needs, including standard single vision, progressive, reading, and non-prescription lenses.
Within each prescription category, you can choose from a range of functional upgrades:
- Standard clear lenses: High-quality, everyday clear lenses.
- Blue-violet light filtering lenses: Reduce exposure to blue-violet light from screens and sunlight.
- Anti-reflective lenses: Minimize glare and eye strain, ideal for screen use, reading, and night driving.
- Fog-free + blue light lenses: Stay fog-free while protecting your eyes from blue light—great for any activity.
- High-performance gaming lenses: Enhanced clarity and protection from intense blue and UV light.
- Photochromic & blue-violet light filtering lenses: 2-in-1 lenses that automatically darken outdoors for maximum convenience.
For the same prescription, we offer multiple lens thickness options. The final edge thickness depends on your frame shape and your PD. Generally, a higher lens index (such as 1.67 or 1.74) results in thinner and lighter lenses. Here’s a quick guide:
Basic Index 1.56
- Up to 15% thinner and lighter than conventional plastic lenses.
- Best for prescriptions up to ±2.00 diopters.
- Recommended for mild prescriptions.
Standard Index 1.61
- Up to 25% thinner and lighter than conventional lenses.
- Best for prescriptions up to ±4.00 diopters.
- Recommended for mild to moderate prescriptions.
Premium Index 1.67
- Up to 40% thinner and lighter than conventional lenses.
- Ideal for prescriptions from ±4.00 to ±6.00 diopters.
- Recommended for moderate to high prescriptions.
Excellence Index 1.74
- Up to 60% thinner and lighter than conventional lenses.
- Best for prescriptions above ±6.00 diopters.
- Recommended for high prescriptions.
We offer a range of thickness options so you can choose the best fit for your needs. If you have further questions, our team is always happy to help!
Most prescription orders are crafted in our EYDIO lens lab within 1–5 business days. For stronger prescriptions or high astigmatism, production may take a bit longer—usually up to 3–7 days.
No, there’s no additional fee for high prescription lenses. All our lens options are clearly priced, so you can select what you need without worrying about hidden costs.
Frames
Each of our frames is labeled with three numbers: lens width, bridge width, and temple length (all in millimeters).
- Lens width: The width of one lens.
- Bridge width: The distance between the two lenses (the bridge).
- Temple length: The length of the arms from hinge to tip.
You’ll typically find the frame size numbers printed inside the temple arm of your glasses. If you already own a pair that fits comfortably, it’s helpful to note down those measurements when shopping for new frames.
In addition to these numbers, we also offer six size categories based on lens width:
- Petite: ≤ 47mm (approx. ≤ 1.85in)
- Small: 48–49mm (approx. 1.89–1.93in)
- Medium: 50–51mm (approx. 1.97–2.01in)
- Large: 52–53mm (approx. 2.05–2.09in)
- Ultra: 54–55mm (approx. 2.13–2.17in)
- Oversize: ≥ 56mm (approx. ≥ 2.20in)
Keep in mind, these measurements are guidelines—fit and comfort can depend on your unique face shape and preferences.
For example:
A frame labeled 51-20-146 means:
- 51mm (lens width) – Medium Size (Medium: 50–51mm / approx. 1.97–2.01in)
- 20mm (bridge width)
- 146mm (temple length)
This sizing helps you find the perfect Eydio fit—every time.
Yes, you can purchase frames only, without any prescription or functional lenses.
Yes, all our frames come with complimentary demo lenses. These are either blue light blocking or polycarbonate demo lenses, so you can enjoy both style and basic eye protection straight out of the box.
